Anyone know if Toshiba is a good brand?

I am thinking about purchasing the:

"Toshiba Satellite P205 17" Widescreen."

What I am wondering is if I am throwing my cash away by doing this. I need a new laptop because my Compaq laptop is having screen issues. The laptop I get will have to work for video editing as I do filmmaking. I know the ibook is good for this, but I can't afford that right now. Will this Toshiba be good for that with its 17" screen and 200 memory and crisp screen, or should I go another route with a different brand that may be better suited or more reliable?
